The Session met on June 15th and has decided to resume worship services at 10:30 am this Sunday, June 21st in the church sanctuary. We will still have to abide by the requirements set by the Federal, State and Local authorities and the guidance provided by the Presbytery of the Peaks.
Worship will be different than in the past and we will take all steps necessary to protect the health and safety of all who choose to attend. Click here to view the guidance compiled by the Worship Committee Taskforce for the resumption of worship services.
The Session has approved Rev. Glenn Mark Coleman to begin serving as our Interim Pastor on July 1st. He and his wife, Cynthia, will be moving to South Boston from Charleston, West Virginia. We look forward to benefiting from Rev. Coleman’s leadership and experience in helping us prepare for a new pastor.
In accordance with the advice of our President, CDC, and WHO the Session has made the following decisions:
The Session met on May 18th and has decided to continue the suspension of Sunday School, Worship, and church sanctioned events throughJune 17. Session will meet again on June 15, at that time they will reassess the situation.
Be mindful of those you know without email or access to the web. Please share this information with them or let Sherolyn or any Elder know to contact them.
Thank you for your confidence in our Session and our
deliberation with decisions for you and our church. Please continue to pray for us as we pray for
you. Feel free to contact any of the
Elders if you have questions, concerns, or needs.
We will be holding both Sunday School (9:30 am) and Worship (10:30 am) this Sunday, March 15th.
We know that many churches have decided to cancel services due to concerns over the Coronavirus. However, we have chosen to not cancel our Sunday events and to trust God for his protection and provision.
Please follow the guidance that has been
communicated to everyone concerning proper hygiene and limiting personal
contact with others. As a precaution we will be asking everyone to not
shake hands, hug and conduct other forms of physical contact. We will
also not be passing the collection plates during the offering time.
Offering containers will be positioned at each of the exits for you to leave
your tithes and offerings. Remember that it is “Five Cents a Meal”
We look forward to seeing (not touching)
you at church tomorrow. By all means if you are not feeling well please
stay home so as not to potentially expose others.
