Good morning folks,
I thought we had a great 1st meeting last night. Thanks to all of you that could come. As promised I have put a Blog together that we can use to share the information about this wonderful Pilgrimage that we are planning. It's called SoBo Pilgrim's Progress, and you should be able to find it on the Internet at http://sobopilgrim.blogspot.com/. So Bo, of course, stands for South Boston. I figure we are all going on a Pilgrimage so we can be called Pilgrims. And the Blog is to follow our Progress as we plan for and take this journey together. Take a look at the Blog and sign up to be a follower. Contact your friends that may want to go so that they can be as well. If you have never followed a Blog before you should know that the primary purpose is that you can make comments, post questions, and interact. This is a place for us to communicate about the journey throughout the planning and even after we return. Lets make it fun! Russell is going to have a link to it on the church website so you won't have to remember the address. You can just go to the church website and click on the link! How easy is that.
As mentioned last night, we want to make time to prepare spiritually for this journey. We discussed getting together at least once a month to review the places that we have scheduled. That will give us some time to really get to know where we are going scripturally, historically, and geographically. It will also give us a chance to get to know each other real well, as Mike suggested. I'd like to suggest that during this time we also learn some scripture songs that we can sing together there, and pray that God will provide safety, lead us in our journey, and make this a opportunity of spiritual growth for our church body.
As you will see in the Blog, we believe that representatives from Alpha Tours will be available later in March to come and meet with us to show pictures of this current trip that they are taking, and answer questions that we have. We are asking them to come on Wednesday night, March 24th at 7:30 PM. That Wednesday is a Fellowship Dinner night, and Bible Study, so many of us will be at church anyway. I'll be back in touch as these plans are finalized.
Please let me know that you get this e-mail. I don't want to miss anyone who has expressed interest just because I don't have a correct e-mail. Also, share this with your friends. Who knows, maybe they will be persuaded to join us for the trip!
Rejoice Always!
Paul
